M&A Dealmakers meeting 2018 | Marbella

This year's first GCG M&A Dealmakers meeting took place in Marbella (Spain) on 24 February in occasion of the GGI Global Tax Summit.

The event's programme featured the presentation of a GCG success story: KKR and its first PE deal on African soil, delivered by Tim van der Meer and Marlon Putter (Marktlink Fusies & Overnames B.V., The Netherlands). In 2014, the successful private equity firm, KKR, closed its first deal in Africa. KKR invested in the largest rose farm in the World owned by Dutch Family Barnhoorn. Thanks to the close cooperation between several GCG/GGI members the largest M&A transaction on the African continent ($200 mln) became a great success for all stakeholders.

Further presentations included an overview of data security procedures in M&A transactions (Rosanne van Kleef and Dolf Helmann from the GCG sponsor Virtual Vaults) and a negotiation and influence techniques workshop by Michael Reiss von Filski, Chairman of GCG.

The meeting ended with a speed networking session aimed to exchange deals-opportunities between the members present at the event.
